I would think the ‘bark’ would also help with protection from bugs ect. Maybe?

It was bright enough at daybreak it almost drowned out the twilight. Gray sky until the sun broke the horizon. It was quite impressive!!

Tonight the garden will get a nice batch of ladybugs. Natures pest control.
No signs if bugs or anything. Just feels right.

The cracks in the bark caused by tearing/ expanding the tissue as the tree grows. Its essentially ripping its skin apart on a continuous basis.
