Which water chiller do you use

I didn’t know about the copper leaching into the water. I’m wondering if a garden hose coiled up would do the same. I know it probably wouldn’t be quite as efficient, but should work. What do you think?

Either a garden hose or a roll of pex …

I got a few hundred feet of pex, but it’s been sitting out in the field for about 15yrs. I just got some 1/2" tubing to go to my water pumps. It is very flexible, and I got 100ft. I will make some coils. Heck yeah. Hillbilly hacks.

We call that funny pipe in my neck of the woods…
It likes to crack and leak …
Mostly used for outdoor sprinkler systems…
I would not trust that pipe in any of my rooms where leaks could occur…
I have used it in low pressure systems with no issues… but would not trust it under pressure…

The main thing will be whether or not it transfers heat well. That’s why I used the metal in the tanks but regular vinyl tubing from chiller to the tubing and back to the control bucket. I then used pipe insulation to keep the vinyl tubing from losing temp on the way. I’m sure vinyl or silicone tubing in the res would work. It just may take longer to get it down to the correct temp. But if you insulate everything it won’t matter because the water in the lines won’t take much effort to maintain it.

I wouldn’t think these would have very much pressure. What do you think, Sinsei

I would think you would be fine using those…
Just get some hose clamps for all of your connections…
