Bud rot is bad sht. Lost 3 jack herer. It started in one plant. I would cut it out, think I had it cleaned up then in a couple of days another bud was infected. Finally tossed it on the burn pile. A week later the plant next to it had it. Same deal, but this time I tried to harvest and save what I could. Not worth the effort. Way immature. Then the third one got it. Spread fast due to a week of rain and temps in the 50 - 60. On to the burn pile it went.
The lesson I belief is cut your losses and use every precaution to prevent its spread. Bag and toss the one pictured. I belief in another thread addressing bud rot, the poster was instructed to wash the plant with undiluted 3% H2O2. There are also products like Organocide Plant Doctor. A fungicide that is supposed to stop bud rot. I should have tried it. But, the truth is I forgot I had it in my garden chemicals. I certainly would not have been worse off if I tried it and it not work.

My man, what’s yours rule of thumb on when is best to water your outdoor girls? Is it bad to water midday? Bad to water at night? I didn’t have time to get to my parents before I left for work today, and she was borderline dry/moist yesterday on my moisture meter so I was really tryna get there this morning but didn’t happen.

Morning best time to water imho :sweat_drops:

If you water at night, the plants sit soggy and increases the chance for WPM, mold/rot etc

Watering during the day is fine but when it’s hot you lose some of the water to surface evaporation

Might as well feed right before nature flips on the lights and they can start using it right away :call_me_hand:

Morning, I agree, however, a late afternoon watering when it’s warm out during mid/later flower makes a big difference if they need it. I watered a few this afternoon  that needed it. I have cut back on watering the past several days of smoke diminished sunlight, I turned off the timer I have set for 5:45 am.

@Green707Thumb @Big123 Thank you both for replying! Well okay, that works out for me anyways because I got too busy after work with trimming my indoor girls I just took down last week. So looks like I’m going to have to get up a little earlier to go water the girl at my parents tomorrow. And I wish I knew that last week when we had that heat wave. I would have definitely gone midday to water, but since I had been busy in the morning I just waited another day thinking it would be bad to water midday. Still learning, all good.
