A question from a fellow grower:
I’m going to start a very small indoor grow room and I’m going to buy a 400hps system for it. My question is is there a way I can avoid a huge power spike that’s not that noticeable
I can’t believe a single 400 HPS system will spike more than buying a new electric heater for the bathroom would. I’m thinking with longer nights coming on, you’d see a little bit of a rise anyway. (I’ve heard it calculated at about 30 bucks a month.)

A 400 watt system, even with a ventilation system will not pull more than your average decent sized PC.
Just make sure no light leaks outside. peace
