Autos for me as well. Only thing I’ve pulled off (on purpose) was one big fan leaf that was blocking a really nice bud site. And any dead or dying stuff.

@DoobieNoobie your plants ain’t no where near needing to be worrying about defol. Yet them branches will still way above them fans when you start getting good amount of pistills then uncover some bud sites your still vegging brother

Yessir!! I usually do a solid prune at day 21 and 42 of flower and will take random leaves throughout

I’m at day 37 after flip. Did a defoliation at day 18 but leaves are starting to block light penetration again and I heard about a day 45 defoliation on YouTube so I wanted to get some direction on how to proceed. @MattyBear, when you strip on day 45, which leaves are you focusing on? Are you taking a few for light penetration purposes or doing a heavy stripping?

You’re just about right there then. I agree with mattybear provided you don’t have an extremely long flowering strain. You can take what you need to get your colas maximum light.

@Drillbit You can start a light selective defoliation now, to open up bud sites. Then another defoliation 3rd week of flower.

I’m taking any leaves blocking colas from getting light, any restricting air flow or any that are beat up looking. I want to see some light penetrating through the canopy. But not too much… it’s a fine line lol. Pruning is a feel thing and the more you do it , the more you’ll get a feel for it.

Has this dawned on anyone before that when your buds get so big and heavy and they start shading the plant below it they lean over to the side from the wait you know in a perfect world the stems are strong everything is very strong and it doesn’t break but really what it’s doing it’s moving out the way so the lower branches can get the light or is that just me being stoned maybe because the sun moves in these lights we have don’t lol maybe they are adapting to there environment and moving consciously

@Drillbit I do it all at day 25 then I do upkeep curing on the shade leafs if they are shadowing a huge area where bud sights are

Thanks gents! The resin production on these babies are gonna be outrageous! The most I’ve ever seen on a plant, hands down! Smell is the strongest skunk scent I’ve ever grown too! This grow is next level for me! First time flowering indoors, buds are larger and more potent than most my outdoor grows. Can’t wait to sample the end product! 100% organic from start.
