I notice when i switched from buckets to favs that it is harder to overwater but u can still overwater and cause other issues like fungus gnats and such lol. I figured i was good kept watering all was great but it brought fungus gnats keeping soil moist

Speaking strictly in the context of the op, a proper flushing would already leave your medium completely saturated. Adding another gallon or two with the proper nutrients won’t make it more saturated. It just adds the nutrients.
My recommending of fabric pots was for anyone concerned with overwatering in this situation.

Are used 1 gallon pots for measuring I put the ratio 2 to one.
