First grow, White widow Autos Questions

Im am very new to growing i am going to go with the begginers one with feminised seeds i just need to know what im looking at price wise and light and tent and the basics ive done alot of reading but not coming up with any answers Please help!!

@weedlover33 welcome to ilgm forums. It can be a little overwhelming at first.

It takes a little bit of an initial investment for the gear you need but to start this off right we would need to know how many plants you intend to grow at a time?

Ok for me is was:
4x4 tent 110
600w light 130
Fans and filter 200
Hydro bucket 30 a piece
Cloth pot around 7 to 10 bucks a piece
Nutrients 30
Then the seed, just depends on what you want
That’s about what it was to start for me. Those numbers are pretty close l, but estimates

Initial investment would be at least $300 dollars for a light, seeds, nutrients, soil (unless growing hydroponically), hygrometer, pH up & down, pH pen and containers for growing in. You can try to lower costs by making your own tent, or using bag seeds to begin. You’ll definitely, 100% need a good light, first and foremost. In my opinion at least. Good buds come from good lights! Then nutrients, and a pH meter!

im looking at about 28" by 36 space for a tent at 3 gallons a plant thats 4 if i am correct im looking to spend around 320 with everything and do i know what i am looking at for weight wise for that? and price wise for growing i came up with around 320 with seeds and amazon stuff cause im just starting out

im going to show u what i have in my amazon cart and i have to find out what im going to need to buy because im new to all this im very new (and im dumb) and is it ok if its right next to the radiator [This Is my amazon Cart(Imgur: The magic of the Internet)
Look good + ima need some other things but i need help finding out what they are that i need to get nice yield and good grow

Weight Wise? Impossible to even guess. Depends on the plants the lights the soil the water… Well everything

I think you could fit a those pots in your tent but that doesn’t give them much room to grow. Some grow tall and others grow wide. You can make that final decision later.

So let’s go back to seeds. Did you say beginners complete set? That’s $159 right there

well do i need the beginer kit or can i just buy the seeds because im buying the Fox Farm FX14049 Liquid Nutrient Trio Soil Formula: Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom (Pack of 3 - 32 oz. bottles) or i need the one they offer? and what kind of soil should i be using for it and is this kit bad or good

That’s a great beginners set. If you want to use Fox farms then just buy seeds and get your nutrients somewhere see. Totally your call.

The beginners set has most everything you’d need seeds and nutrients wise.

Save a few bucks and buy 5 seeds right now to start.

I have a short list of items that I can paste in for you in a little bit.

There are tons of discussions on the forum on lights but you will need between 40-50 actual watts per sq ft of tent space if you want good coverage.

Soil I use Fox farms. I used ocean forest to start and I haven’t needed to add any nutrients and I’m 7 weeks in.

If you are in the US I would recommend you go visit your local hydroponics store or true value and see if they don’t have some soil. Ordering soil online can be expensive.

Add a TDS meter so that if you can check your total dissolved solids.

so the powermax is only for smell right and its ok that the tent is going to be located right next to the heat sorce in my room and sorry to be a pain but can u explain y i need the ph stuff and a little on how it works and do u think its likey ill get more bud with the kit or me buyin seeds and adding my own fertlizer which would be the fox farms 3 pack and do you think i can grow nice buds big plants with that light and you say fabric cloth pots over 3 gallon buckets if i have 4 plants in there u think that light will be ok we went with 4 fem seeds white widow autoflower do you think its worth it and i will get bud?

just to clarify. Those are just representative of items you should consider. They don’t have to be exact.

The ph meter, ph up and down and the tds meter are the most important items to buy. If your ph and tds are not 100% then you won’t get a very good harvest at all.

As far as what works best for nutrients? I’m not your guy. I think you need to commit to one or the other. I see guys getting great results both ways. There are thousands of grows on here. You can read through some of them and see what the guys are using and then make your own decision.

Ask 10 guys and you’ll get ten answers…

white widow auto is a great starter seed. I highly recommend that for a starter. The cloth pots let the air get into the roots and the water to drain properly which is very important.

that 300 watt light has a true at the outlet wattage of about 140. the tent you said was 28 x 36 which is roughly 6 square feet. The goal is to get between 40 and 50 watts per sq foot.

140 / 6 = 23 watts per sq foot. You would need to add a second one of those lights to get thorough coverage wall to wall!

The exhaust fan and filter are needed for two reasons. It will help control the temps in your tent and it will keep everyone from within 100 yards of you knowing that you are growing.

the velcro straps are for tying everything down so nothing comes loose like power cords or fans or lights or anything above your plants!

That should give you some to think about!
