So in a month I want to get one of these lights for my 5x5 tent just wondering if anyone has any feedback from their experience between these 2 different lights?
[SolarSystem® 1100 Premium LED Grow Lights | California LightWorks
[HLG Scorpion® Diablo X – Horticulture Lighting Group
Thanks for all the help everyone!! Have a good day!
The Scorpion is definitely going to give you a better distribution of light. I run a 350R and have been thoroughly impressed with it. Just reading through the stats on both lights I’d bet good money the Scorpion will outperform the Solar System in every way and do it more efficiently. There’s something about Diablo boards. They look awesome on paper but they’re even better once you use them.
I found a coupon that save me $324.00 for the HLG. They are both pretty much $1200. But again, I got the Willy Wonka coupon! So i will go with the HLG.
The tutorial video they show on YouTube they say it gets a little hot. The KINGLED I have would get hot too. Hot enough i had to add A/C to keep temp regulated. So more than likely I would need a portable A/C when getting this HLG light?
Thanks everyone for the feedback much appreciated. Have a good day
I think the HLG Scorpion in the 5x5 is a great plan!
It is petty easy to get at least 15% off from HLG. The code “DUDE” will get you 10-15% off. Or if you put a light in the cart on their website, and don’t complete the sale. They will email you discount offers a couple times with a final one of 15% off.
HLG gave @DEEPDIVERDAVE a lifetime 20% discount code to honor his service as a military veteran.
Also a few times during the year HLG will run a 25% off sale.
@shaggy808, I am running a 350R and a 260Rspec in a 5x5 tent, it only gets up to 77 degrees. With a lung room temperature of about 72 degrees. I think with good tent ventilation, and the size of your lung room you will be OK with temperature. Provided that your lung room is not very warm to start with.
Me too, and hopefully two. Quality and efficiency are needed for an indoor grow.
HLG 350 is so impressive, I know the SD is going to do an awesome job.
The 350R at 50% outputs the same LUX as my Vipar Spectra V1200 (565watts).
The Vipar is larger but keeps my tent warm and the electron mice moving fast.
Get the Scorpion Diablo and a good pair of welding goggles.
AC-Infinity Cloudline 69P will adapt for controlling all your tent timing needs, four channels.
Alternatively, get a 700R, start your grow experience. The SD might be a money burn in a grow with the hands of a novice.
Along with the scorpion DiabloX comes with the GrowFlux , I think its to fine tune the lights. would or do you guys use the GrowFlux? Well it doesn’t come with the light it is sold separately.
Thanks for all the feedback about to buy this light soon and yes, they are saving me almost $400 off so i am looking at roughly under a grand for this light.
Glad that AC Infinity finally has that adapter cord available for you. I am sure, it will be handy to be able to control the light with that phone app.
Maybe when I start back up next fall. I will have some more of the AC Infinity stuff. In the meantime, I will enjoy reading what those of you that have AC Infinity controllers post about them.
@shaggy808, I think the growflux will allow you control the light with a phone app via Wi-Fi, or something like that.
You would probably be better off to order the light with the new manual dimmer/J11 0-10V remote input option.
Then buy the AC Infinity 69 controller for $70, with the adapter “B” cable, like @DEEPDIVERDAVE just ordered. This will give you more flexibility, and will be able to control other devices in the future.
I am sure the DiabloX is a very fine light. But as I stated in my 5x5. I am running a 350R with the 260 Rspec FR presently, and plan to add another 350R when starting back up next fall. I will veg with the two 350s, and add the 260 FR after flipping the light.
You could get this same three light set up. But if you bought refurbished 350s, you could hold the price to $1,050 before the discount. This would give more total watts, and maybe a little more flexible with three lights.
You can always call HLG or email them, and they will talk to you and offer advice.
LOL well i order it all just now The Scorpion Diablo X along with the GrowFlux and i added the access point. I was okay with buying them all just in case if needed or may use it. But I will get the adapter later, if necessary, no problem! Cannot wait to see what difference with this light compared to the “KINGLED” from amazon I used for my last 3 harvest.
Thanks @Ickey and everyone here helping me narrow down the choice between the 2 lights of the topic!!
You will be very happy with that choice. Sometimes you just need to stop thinking about it and just pull the trigger. Does this light still have a two week delay in shipping?
