In my set-up, (which isn’t going to change), 2x2 area under my Mars Hydro TS600/100 watt LED, would I get greater yield out of…four autos in 2 gallon fabric pots or training one big photo in a 5 gallon? Also trying to consider the different time frames. Thanks
Yield is limited by available light(footprint)not the number of individual plants. One plant done right would produce the maximum yield for that light.
You do not have enough light to consider any kind of “staggered” grow or perpetual harvest.
Multiple plants may (likely will) grow at different rates and would be competing for available light.
PERSONAL OPINION:
That TS600 is really only good for vegging a single plant. It is not likely to be enough for good, dense buds.
Photo vs Auto is really just a personal choice. With indoor grows a photo can be done as quickly as an auto. The difference is in control over size when starting flower.
IMHO, you can grow 1 or 2 with what you have which should do fine.
I grew 4 autos my first grow with 200W in a 3x3 tent but that was marginal.
Good luck regardless of what you decide to do.
my advice in a 2x2 is 1 photo and more light.
you want 3x the umol/S the TS puts out. Also efficacy of 2 PPE is way down there.
If you can swing it a HLG 135 is often the the light chosen for a 2x2. Better yet is HLG’s new 150 watt Patriot.
Looks like I’ll be posting this on my local Craigslist. I guess I’ll have to scrape enough to afford a ts1000. Thanks y’all!
I am running 2 TS1000s in approximately 32x48 space (modified 32x32 tent) and get pretty good results. I have kind of a perpetual grow attempt with autos at different growth stages.
Some past grows. I think the top and bottom pics are the same grow at different stages.
Nice! Thanks again
I have three(3) Vivosun VS1000 lights in my 3x3 tent.
Each is 100W.
I bought the last one USED on eBay for $75
People add, change tent sizes and upgrade all the time so eBay is a good place to go to get good stuff that works great…for like 50% off.
What a great setup!
It works and someday if I get another great deal, I might round it out with the 4th matching light
I have a VS2000 light I’d give one of you a good deal on. Used it for two weeks then got an HLG 350R. I’d definitely look into an HLG light. Everything they make is good. You can get a good deal on a refurbished one. You need at least 30 watts of led per square foot to get quality buds. IMHO I’d recommend 40, maybe 50 watts per square foot. That way you’re not running your light wide open and it’ll last longer. Plus it’s baller. Lol.
As to the other part of your question, autos are gonna do whatever they want to. I’m growing them for the first time right now and I like it. They should work well in a SOG type setup. You can veg one photo as long as you want and totally fill a 2x2. Don’t remember who said it, but it really is just a matter of preference.
