I had to go out of town for 5 days and when I returned I had a lot of yellow dying fan leaves. Apparently it didn’t rain when I was away. I watered them up good and they perked up, but I’m still experiencing a lot of yellowing of the large fan leaves. Is this merely a hold over from the 5 dry days or a nutrient problem? I’ve been using fish emulsion fertilizer roughly once a week.

That’s a long while without watering. If your plants perked up I wouldn’t worry about it. Keep an eye on them. If it doesn’t get worse, rave on.

And you will lose older leaves…

Those look to be old fan leaves, and being towards the bottom, they normally turn yellow and die as they are done feeding back. Not having water for a few days might have brought it on a little quicker.
