Hello Everyone,
My husband and I would REALLY appreciate advice on our first indoor grow. We are on week 2 after germination and building a set up in our bathroom. We covered the walls of the tub with aluminum foil. Any advice would be fantastic and much appreciated. The lights we are using are viparspectra 450 W at 35 inches from the plants.
Why don’t you fill this out and please be as complete as possible. For example: don’t say “soil”: tell us what you are using exactly. Also; what is your watering practice and how do you monitor PH?
IMO you have an early sign of nutrient burn brought about by soil too “hot” (full of nutrients) for the seedling.
Also; at this point the plants need about 1 teaspoon of water per day and if too much water is used it will dampen off the roots and cause issues. A dome or plastic bag over your plants will be helpful too as they adsorb most of their moisture at this point through the leaves and not the roots.
To create a grow support ticket we need some basic information to help diagnose the issue.

Thanks for your answer. Until 3 days ago I was spraying the plants with water instead of water straigh the soil. Now I use a ketchup tube.

What kind of soil?
Temp/humidity NA? They’re definitely applicable. If you don’t have something to measure, I’d get something.
Ph 7… so you’re checking it but not adjusting it?
As of now I don’t have any equipment to control temp, humidity or PH. That will be the next thing to buy. I always water the babies with mineral water that is labeled with 7.0 PH. The soil we are using is flora potting soil blumenerde from Estonia. I have attached a picture of the soil composition.
Would you think this one would cover those bases?
No don’t buy that one. Get digital meters.
And you want something to measure what your temp and rh are, not necessarily control them. You’ll probably want to be able to that eventually too to some extent. For right now, just something that will tell you what temp and humidity are will work.
Doesn’t have to be these in particular they’re just examples of the things everyone is talking about.

The soil pH of 5-6 is concerning. And it’s soil with no natural soil… coco?
Thank you all! I ordered the equipments + Ph kit (7 days to deliver). It’s just hard to figure out my soil. All I can find at the makers website is that must be rich in clay. Any advices of mixes I can do to make it proper for this stage?
@Drinkslinger @dbrn32 the growing medium I’m using is based on sphagnum peat and free of natural soil, animal waste, palm residues, sand and organic fertilizers. The only thing I added was perlite in a proportion of 3/1. Thank you one more time
Your ph 7 water may even be a bigger deal then. It sounds like you may need to be setting your ph closer to what a hydroponic grow would be.
Hey Everyone thank you so much for all your help! I got some equipments this week but still haven’t received the PH meter (it should be delivered in 3 days). Here is the information I got about water, soil, and humidity:
Room temp: 75 F
Humidity: 57%
Soil PH: between 6.0 and 6.5
ppm: 127
water temp: 73 F
I have updated pictures of the babies and it doesn’t look very good but they seem to recover the last 2 days when I switched the soil and adjusted the room temp and humidity. Maybe my water ppm is too low? Should I start adding some nutrients? If yes, which plants nutrients should I buy?
