Life happened and I didnt get my bud trimming and jarred in a timely fashion. I feel that it got a bit over dried. I use the 62%Rh packets in my jars. since they work both ways will they help rehydrate the buds a bit? Is there a method to rehydrate over dried buds? Thanks all
You can add a couple green fan leafs to the jar.
Thank you! that will work out great I have a blue dream that actually needs some pruning.
How much bud dried out?
bout 1.5 ounces. probably been 2 ounce if it wasnt so crispy lol
I agree with @kellydans add a couple of leaves and leave them in overnight then recheck the next day you may need to do it twice
Congrats on your harvest!
Just for the future when life screws up timing. Throw the buds and stems in a tote or big paper bag to slow things down. I had to leave my last plant in totes for 5 days before I had the time to final trim it.
One of the totes…
There is usually enough moisture in the stems to go a couple of days. Beyond that I add leaves or lettuce to add moisture.
I believe the consensus around here is to not use humidity packs during curing. It apparently affects terpenes / flavor. I do use them once it is fully cured.
that is a good tip thank you. Oh dang I thought the humidity packs were recommended. I have a pretty good track record of doing things back asswards
Something else that works pretty well for increasing humidity is to get one of those mr clean eraser sponges cut a 1/2-1" square of it wet it, squeeze it almost dry and drop in with your bud. Less chance of any organic decomposition happening. Also may want to check out the grove bag thread on here.
If the humidity is higher in a room than the jars, simply lay out the buds and they will suck up some of the humidity.
That could be part of my problem also. I dry them in same room as my tent. I keep that room about 76F and 40%RH which probably isnt ideal for drying
Piece of lettuce leaf in the jar for a 1/2 day to a day or so will rehydrate them
I do the old school slice of apple or citrus or wet paper towel. Just don’t forget you put that in there!
Agreed with @JaneQP on moist paper towel in a jar… Does magic in 12hrs
