Why does this bud look better than it is?

I have a question about a quality of bud I come across every now and then while in the buyers market lol.

The bud will be a nice bright green color. Look like it’s kind of dense. But when u touch it and breakdown. Its very powdery. The high lasts maybe an hr.

I’m just wondering what causes bud of this quality? Is it a growing issue? Curing? Storing? Is there chemicals or treatments ppl can give weed to make it have bag appeal but low quality? I wish I had a pic of the bud I just have a little of what’s left after being broke down. I’m just curious. Hopefully someone has an answer tho so I know what techniques to avoid as I only want to grow top quality bud

What you are describing is what I’m dealing with from my last Harvest. I waited till my buds were nice and frosty and chopped her. What I should have done was let it ripen for a week or so as frosty buds. Looks good. Tastes good. And the high lasts about 45 mins to an hour. Patience is something I need to work on at harvest time.

Sounds like it dried out in the jar or was dried too fast after it was chopped down.
