Where is my plant at right now?!

This is a Bruce Banner autoflower at 12 weeks. I hear your laughter. It is more of a Charlie Brown X mas tree. I know I’m in the flowering stage, but I would like someone to give me an idea (based on my pics) as to how close or far away from harvest I might be. and yes I realize I might get only get one good bud (the very top) or fingers crossed maybe 5. This is my first grow and even if it died tomorrow I feel encouraged not discouraged. So please be kind and tell me your opinions.

She has a ways to go and could use more light, can you move your light source any closer?

Unfortunately I don’t think you’re going to yield much out of her, but give it all the light you can. Anything is better than nothing.

Glad to here you’re not discouraged and willing to show you little gal and continue growing.
With this attitude you will do batter with the next :+1:

But typically buds grow in spurts kinda, you look in one day and see a bunch of white hairs, some time goes by and those hairs begin to turn dark and a fresh new bunch of white hairs pop out.
What is happening is that new calxy are growing and these are what forms or builds buds.
Most of the time this happens 3-4 times in spurts, it apears this plant has had some turning brown and working on its 2nd “spurt”, maybe 1-2 more times with fresh pistols then shes done once all hairs turn dark and theres no more bursts of white hairs all over for say a full week.

If you can remember how long ago was it when you first noticed groups of white hairs forming together at the very top?

You can count about 8 weeks from that point and that would be a good guesstimate. Could be a week or 2 either way from that point.

8-10 weeks from when pistils started coming out. Needs more light for sure. We all have to start somewhere. Learn from your mistakes and make the next grow better. Good luck to you.

Thank you for your replies. I lowered my light (see pic) it is about 4 to 5 inches away now.

Also I keep a photo journal, I take pics every week to see progress or lack of, around week 5 is when the white hairs first appeared. I’m really happy with things so far. I planted a seed it grew. It is still alive as of this posting. From what I gathered from this forum, I expected to harvest mid to late August. So my time frame is pretty close. Oh! I wanted a much better yield but I got this far and that to me is saying something!

That’s a great attitude to have, it’s a good place to start and see if growing is something you have time for or want to invest more into it.

You don’t need to invest hundreds of dollars into lights if you don’t want to, obviously results will suffer but if it’s what works for you and you’re happy that’s all that matters.
I know people who do start to finish photos in happy frog under a 100 watt light and he’s happy.

You have any updates for us?

I do have an update. In my opinion the top was ready to harvest so I cut the top bud off.

The ones right below I left to see if the grow any although they look ready to harvest also. This is what it looks like now.
My next plan is to cut the stem just above the leaves at the very bottom and see what happens. Since you asked for an update, thank you for your interest, here is a pic of my very first harvest. Now in the curing stage. As I stated before even one bud (smokable I hope) is a victory.
The white stuff you see is diatomaceous earth I dropped the bud when doing some trimming.

Start another seed and see how it goes.

Start off with the light about 12 inches from the soil and see how she grows, if it starts to get stretchy move it closer.

That is what happened last year when I tried my very first grow it stretched too much and died. Maybe with more experience I might have saved it. Right now this grow came from my last seed. My own assessment of the way things happened is light and environment were my biggest hurdles. This is why I’m going to a tent set up.

Awesome good to hear! A tent and a good light will do you wonders! Got anything picked out already?

At the moment I’m looking at AC Infinity 3x3 all in one and Spider Farmer 3x3 all in one. The Infinity set up has something called “controller 69 pro”. At the risk of everyone losing faith in me, I need to ask what exactly is the 69 pro and what does it actually do and does Spider have an equivalent.

The ac infinity 69 pro is a controller that you can plug your ac infinity exhaust fan , humidifier into and set parameters on the controller to run as needed. Also monitors temperature and humidity and VPD. It’s very nice, I have the ac infinity tent and exhaust setup and humidifier with the 69 pro controller. I’m Happy with everything ac. The controller is a little challenging to setup all the technical aspects. But I figured out how to make it work for what I need.

Thanks for that info. If I change topics, like inquiring about lights should I begin a new thread or just keep going with this one. Being new I don’t want misuse this site. It is really awesome.

Keep going with this one!

Do be careful with tent packages as the lights are normally so small for the tent, but they will work.
The 69 pro is a good product for keep a stable environment but the room the tent is in needs to be in check also.
