I am growing gold leaf and power plant from ILGM. I have a vivosun grow tent with the seedlings in solo cups with clear solo cups on top. When should I remove the top solo cup and when should I transplant to the 5 gal pots with frog soil.
the seedlings are getting leggy, the light intensity needs to be turned up. I personally transplant when the leaves grow outside the perimeter of the cup
just got them closer to the light. had to wait for the second light to arrive, since I am babysitting a blue dream that is flowering now so in 12:12 light. now that they are closer and longer duration, they have stopped getting more leggy. remove the top solo cup when they are sturdier? ok to remove now?
good catch @Deepsix, that one slipped me. whats the humidity levels in your grow area? i dont use the domes because i use a Humidifier to keep the humidity up.
definitely will put red solo around the bottom cups. thanks! The humidity is pretty low in our house. 15-20% at the highest. i havent measured it specifically in the tent itself, so I imagine it is somewhat higher in there. This forum and the folks involved are the best!! Thanks for your help!
pick up a hydrometer to read temps and humidity levels. if its low then i would keep the lids on it. there is more items needed to add to your grow, ph and tds pens, fans, possibly a Humidifier if humidity is low, an exhaust fan to circulate air in the tent, you can add carbon filter if worried about smell. i know its alot but all these things help with successful grows.
I have the high flow charcoal filtered vent fan, but I do need to get the hydrometer and ph monitors…the tent has multiple ports, so i have opened a few of those to let ambient air get pulled in. thats working great to keep temps stable so far… and it provides cross flow through the tent. I figured if I am gonna grow, go big or go home. I got the vivosun 48x36x72 with the separate chamber for seedlings, a VS1000 light in the big room and the HCF1600 in the propagation section. the blue dream was just flowering before it came to me and now the flowers are MUCH bigger with the correct light… it was an indoor/outdoor before it came to me. It seems much happier now. Trichromes are a mix of clear and milky… almost ready for harvest. Exciting times for a new grower!
Personally I go right to their forever home. The front plant is my Gold Leaf this was day 32/33 under 24 hour light. The best grown is homegrown.Welcome Aboard!!!
Welcome, what BudzsMS said. And I don’t personally like to keep anything over the top. Seems like it keeps everything to wet for my liking. Seedlings seem pretty sensitive to excess moisture. Here’s mine at 4 days, and its never had anything over it since it came up.
