When is it too late to repot into bigger pots

Was thinking about putting my plants into bigger pots. I am using 7 gallon smart pots. They have been growing since 4/20. Would it be too late to try and put them into 15 gallon smart pots so they will have more room to grow or should I not even disturb them.

Are they flowering?

Do you have pictures?

Outdoors? Where around are ya?

Sorry, They are outside. I am in MASS. Not flowering yet. Will try and get some pictures later.

Then you have time. Gon uppot those ladies. They will appreciate it

Uppoting would be awesome for your ladies! I did the same thing last year for my outdoor grow…about a week or 2 before going into flower I went from 5 gal cloth pots to 10 gal cloth pots and my girls loved it and thrived! Got to 8 ft tall!

Repotting from smart pots sucks lol just a heads up. My first grow I ended up cutting the pots so I could just slide the root mass out. I mean hopefully your roots are completely engulfing your grow medium to the point of almost being root bound ( won’t be root bound in fabric). If you can get someone to help you it’ll make it go cleaner.

100% agree @Northerlit …I forgot how much of a pain in the ass it was for me to do the transplanting, had to cut the pots off just like you! But it was worth the effort in the end, it really made the difference between my ladies stalling out and taking off again!

This year I started off in 10gal cloth pots and I’m very pleased with the plants progress so far and am seeing no need to uppot…

After that first year, I went down from 20 to 15 gal smart pots. So instead of going from solo cup-2gal-5gal-20gal I’m going solo-3gal-15 gal smart pots.

I was considering going up to 15gal pots this year, but they were hard to come by early this season so I stuck with the 10 gal pots. I’m glad I did because my plants are already 6 ft tall and just starting to kick it into high gear

Beautiful plants, I agree with @Northerlit razor knife Cut four sides of the pot . To make a easy transplant. I have sacrificed cloth pots before. It might be possible to stitch them back up . Good luck with your repotting.

I didn’t do anything, topping or LST wise, to the ladies this year. Last year the plant that I didn’t with ended up being the top producer, even though it was shorter than the rest, it was a bush!

Gonna see how I do this year with 5 untamed ladies

Last year was trrrash for me, the weather was balls for the last two months, nothing but clouds, rain and humidity. I didn’t top last year, tried some lst and hst and ended up with 20 usable oz off 6 plants. Disaster lol
This year I went back to topping (twice) and using nets to open up the canopy. Also I switched mediums from promix and liquid nutes to organic. So far it’s been amazing, I haven’t lost a single leaf to deficiency or burned any tips. I mean, these shits still have their first set of true leaves:

I’m just praying for dry cool fall weather this year. I’m still raising capital for my indoor setup.
