Yes water a couple hours after lights on. If you water in the dark they aren’t working to absorb and the roots just sit in water.

Now guys, it’s a fact the the roots and leaves do absorb water at night. With that said the main reason not to water at night is that it encourages bacterial and fungal growth. Plants actually grow at night as well. Check one out outdoors on a full moon and watch her as she tracks the moon across the sky. If in doubt, measure your plant at dark and daylight for 3 days.

Whener my schedule allows, but like others have said, always while lights are on.

It can lead to root rot by watering in the dark often. Because the water does mostly just sit there, over wetting the medium. they don’t eat in the dark… they actually transpire and release water.

Has this been proven wrong recently?

I have two choices with my schedule, before 6 AM or after 7 PM. I have my lights out from 1 PM to 7 PM due to time of use on electricity costs.

I always water with lights on but I work a lot so if they need it I water
