When cutting up big buds

…do you cut up parallel along the stem, or, perpendicular to the stem? I ask this obvious question with humility and a shade of embarrassment.

I don’t understand the question. I rough cut all of the fan leaves off. Then trim the sugar leaves off and then hang branches. Let hang a week, then cut off all of the buds into a paper bag. Close paper bag and allow to bag cure for a couple of weeks. Jar.

Well, how do you cut the huge buds down so they fit into a jar?

The bigger the buds, the more difficult to get them dry and getting them in and out of the jar. You want them to dry out slowly, but the center of the bud hold a lot of water and if not dried/cured correctly you can get mold really quickly and ruin your entire batch. That’s why I like the paper bag method.

How do you cut the big buds up

Just start from the bottom and snip stems as you can see them?

A big bud is made up of smaller buds so,like @Cyle1 said cut from bottom and work forwards.

When I cut and trim the branches I like to work from the bottom up also. All fans first to get them out of the way…trash bag. Then sugars…paper bag. Hang full branch.
