A question from a fellow grower:

i was wondering if you could help me decied whats up with my plants, the first pic shows my most affected plant. is affecting most plants, except my biggest one, to some degree.
i also wanted to show you this cool leaf in the second pic, and also my seedlings are being affected as you can see in the third pic. it could be to much nutes, as i give recommende dose of multi trace, easy grow, cal/nitro and epsom salts, two waterings out of three the third of wich is pure water. my ph metre is on the way, i have flushed with pure water amd given gypsum for calcium and epsom salts for magnesium. what do you think it could be, i am also wondering if hps lights always make lines of darkness and light when looked at through a digital camera, as you can see in the fourth pic. my biggest plant is still on a veg cycle, probably not for long.
Sorry if reading this was at all boring, just thought you might have some good advice.

Yes the HPS can cause lines in some cameras. It’s a frequency/Hertz thing.

It looks like it could be a pH thing and/or a too much nutrients thing. Are you checking the EC/TDS/PPM of the soil’s run off? Or checking the soil fertility/nutrient concentration with a soil probe? When you get the pH pen you can test the runoff for an idea of what the pH is at the roots, which is where it counts. pH soil probes can also work for helping determine the pH at the roots zone.

How do you bring down the pH level it is at 6.5-7.5

It’s hard to tell, but yes those tops don’t look as full and healthy as they could be. We could use more info.

Let’s get you started with a ILGM support ticket that Latewood had first developed. It’s is a great checklist of things in your plant’s environment that might help give us an idea of what could be going wrong.

pH? Of the soil or medium (root zone/reservoir/runoff) and of the water and/or nutrient mix that is fed to the plant?

Type and strength of nutrients used? NPK? EC/TDS/PPM levels?

Temperature? Day vs. night temp or highest and lowest temps? Root zone temps?

Humidity %?

Light system/watts/lumens/FLUX/PAR?

Ventilation system? Size? CFM? CO2? AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier?

Number “weeks/days” from into Season, Vegetative Growth or Bloom/flowering?
