Hey gang, I’m having trouble making a decision and some insight from more experienced eyes would be helpful. These are all Zkittlez photos. We just started week 5 of veg and they are very short and compact compared to pics I’ve seen of other Zkittlez grows. I’m not worried about them or anything, they look super healthy and happy but I am concerned about how much room I’ll have after stretching when I flip the lights to 12/12. I did some lst 2 weeks ago and the bottoms filled in very nicely, there’s a lot of bud sites already on top and a lot more going on under all that vegetation.
They are in a 2 x 4 tent with a 5’ ceiling, the exhaust fan and filter are outside of the tent so I can take the light right up to the top if I have to. The light is a Spider Farmer G4500 (430 watt it perfectly fits the footprint of the tent, DLI is about 40 according to Photone app or about 600 PPFD. They’re getting watered 2x a week and fed once a week. I’m using the EON line from Cultured Biologix and just following the schedule that came with the nutes. They’re growing in happy frog right out of the bag with 2 kinds of clover for a cover. They also get worm castings every couple weeks or so. I try to keep the tent in the high 70’s to low 80’s with lights on, low 70’s at lights out, RH is pretty consistent 62-65% all the time.
When I started, my intention was to SCROG them and get a full canopy before I flowered them. But, we’re already vegged for almost 5 weeks and they just aren’t getting very tall and my space is limited anyway so, I’m considering letting them go for another week and then flipping to flower. Am I jumping the gun here? Should I be a little more patient or am I already going to overcrowd the tent? What would you do?
(The white spots on some of the leaves is diatomaceous earth, I’m fighting gnats at the moment)
Thank you, this is the comparison I need. I’ve actually seen your pics before but without a timeframe for context. Given my space limitations, I may not wait a week, if mine blow up like yours did, my tent is gonna get pretty full pretty fast!
Thats what i was going to recommend is to flip now. She will double , even triple in size. In the march 28th pic, i had just pinned her down. Matter of fact, im dabbing some z my brother grew… buds were very dense and mine seem like theyre going to be dense also.
Hehe, I watched a Zkittlez grow by Bill Ward on YouTube a few weeks ago and the nugz were like rocks! I’m pretty excited about these girls. I think I’ll clean out the tent and flip em tomorrow. Thanks for the side-by-side!
I agree with the posts above once you flip them they will take off they look very nice healthy and green is the biologics organic organics is always a little slower than synthetics
I’m not sure they can claim the organic label since they’re a relatively new company and the requirements for getting the organic certification take time. But it’s not a synthetic, it’s all plant derived nutrition that’s solubilized to be plant available immediately. So, not like a traditional organic dry amendment that takes weeks to break down. The owner of the company, Tim McCormick, was on the mr. grow it podcast and I was really impressed with him then, after joining their discord and seeing the results these growers are getting I decided to go with them for my first grow at least.
