What should I do now?

A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks

Hi
Three days of soaking in water with Ph of 6. One split after two days . Since then nothing. Water is approximately 20 deg C. What should I do now?

This is how i germinate my beans
Place in room temp water fir 24 hours they should sink older beans may take longer to crack open also
when they crack i place in damp paper towel for 12-24 hours until a tap root appears then i place in dirt 1/2 inch down
Moisten soil first before placing seed

I’ve been using @garrigan62 suggestion of using a teaspoon of peroxide in the distilled water I use and the seeds seem to respond more quickly.

They’ve been in water long enough. You need to plant your seeds.

I’d also make sure that ph is actually 6. I messed with very low ph water to inhibit fungus, mold, etc. It worked great except it also stopped the seeds from germinating.

I agree with the above to get them out of the water.

Thanks for your input
I put them in Rockwool cubes.
Soaked in 1/4 strength nutrient for a day before planting
They are kept warm and damp
Regular spritzzszzs
In a shop bought clone box
Nothing happening yet
How long do I wait?
Other seeds I planted after these Durban Poison have their true leaves already.
Is there a time limit?

No, no, no. Plain water until the seed leaves die off.

I think you’re about 2 weeks now. I’d be getting pretty pessimistic. Only because of the cost of store bought seeds, I’d keep at it for another week, anyway. But I think it’s likely something went horribly wrong with those seeds.

Rockwool soaked in 1/4 strength nutrient.
Seeds Spritzszed with purified water
I have now removed them from the cubes
They look excactly the same as the day they went into
the cubes

They are now back in the Rockwool for another week

I think that’s all you can do. If your other seeds popped your temps must be ok. It almost looks like that top one in the last pic tried to pop. I think between the extended soak and nutrients, this batch may not have survived. These are all the same batch and type of seeds, right? It may be that they’re not quite as resilient as the others.

The fails are all Durban poison.
