What’s happening here? Lights too close or something worse?

These girls popped out of the dirt 7 days ago. Immediately, they stretched a couple inches so, I lowered my light and turned up the intensity just a bit, stretch stopped right away. They’ve been doing good over the weekend and after reading manufacturer’s specs, I turned the light up again. Temp has been 77-80F with rh in the mid to low 60’s. Growing in FF Happy Frog right out of the bag. When I got home from work today, I noticed right away the dry, burnt-looking tips on the leaves. Is this the start of light burn? I’ve already raised the light a couple inches preemptively.

Appears to be overwatering. The soil looks far too wet. Waterings should be measured in ml per day at this point and the soil should be nearly dry.

Yeah, I just finished spraying them before I took the pics. I’ve been keeping them pretty dry since they popped up. Maybe not dry enough? IDK, i only water when they look dry for at least a day, they have 2 fans, 1 gently blowing across the top and another circ fan that runs at low speed straight down. They seem to dry them out pretty well, the top of the soil will be dry in a few hours.

I believe @MidwestGuy says that also because of the tips and margins look suffering, not just the soil. They’re extremeties like fingers and toes farthest from the heart (roots) and suffer with circulation problems early. A day dry on top is nothing, that could go days without

would it do any good to turn off the humidifier so the pots can dry out a bit? I picked them up and they are a little heavy for their size. Or, do they need that humid air? Humidifier runs 24/7 right now so, the pots aren’t really drying out much.

just seen now I been runnin around logged in. I prefer domes over trying to control my environment. I got away with 45% rh in 10day old seedlings but it’s not recommended. Just giver a few days, now that you got a feel for them wet you should recognize them dry.

Thanks! I just un-potted one to see how wet we were in there and it’s damp but not drenched, I bet they’ll dry out in a couple days. It was nice to see some nice looking roots at the bottom of the pot already, I think we’re going to make it!

…at least for another week

They had a bit of a slow start. I think I had my tent too cool, it was low to mid 70’s for the first week as i was still dialing in how the system heats and cools while keeping humidity in check. I have it pretty stable now at 80 with the lights on, low 70’s with them off. I’m hoping they’ll take off a little faster now.

3 weeks later. Looking pretty good I think, first lst 3 nights ago. Getting fed the EON line from cbx. I love how they’re staying short and compact, I was kinda worried they would blow up and I’d run out of room in a 4x2.

The peas are happy too :yum:
