Thats a hard water issue. Calciium i believe. You want to use distilled or ro water.

I run an evaporative humidifier. It doesn’t raise the humidity as fast as a misting type but also doesn’t throw mineral deposits on everything.

You can use tap water in your humidifier. You might have to clean/wash your fabric filter that sits on your carbon filter a couple times during grow. I learned this the hard way and now have numerous ready when filter gets dirty. Just throw it in the washing machine and your good to go. Cheers

IDKSfrom S, but possibly the dust is minute filter dust attempting to leave new filter, finding strap obstruction, allowing dust build-up. As mentioned, washing filter should help cloth remain cleaner.
My filter did not show similiar dust pattern but does not have similar strapping. Spare covers available.
