What is going on here

Hello my grow friends. Needs some advice on my girl’s. I have three ww fem growing in Happy Frog. Under one 1000w full spectrum with a 300w Mars. Temperature running around 78 to 82 day time 65 to 68 night time. pH 68 to 70. Starting to get some brown on edge of leaves. What is causing this.

@Rdg1951
How close is the light? Could be light burn

The pot seems to not be good for airation. Can you transplant to a pot with air holes or fabric?

Is it the top leaves too, or just the bottom ones turning brown? http://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/marijuana-nutrients-fertilizer-deficiency/

The pots are cloth. 5 gallon pots.

The lights are about 18 inches above the plants.

Keep in mind I am very new to this, but I have a much less intense light and the manufacturer suggests at least 21 " during the veg stage…I think 22 - 24 was the optimum for young plants.

@Rdg1951 I think @Ray4x hit the nail on the head. I believe LED lights should be about 24" to 28" above your plants.

Okay thanks my friend I’ll raise them up some to see if that helps

And your PH needs to be at 6.5

As @Rugar89 mentioned, the pH may be a little too high and causing leaf tip browning. A lot of times it is the pH in the soil that is hurting the plants. Salts collect around the roots over time and especially with some fertilizers. You are in a cloth pot so it is easy to water until there is about 10-15% run-off every time you water. That will help keep the pH more stable. Catch the run-off water and test it.

Your ideal pH for runoff should be 6.5 and no higher than 6.8. If it is way too high (>7.2) you can either water more every time (20-25%) run-off and check till the pH of run-off is 6.5-6.8 (closer to6.5 than 6.8). OR decrease the pH of the water to 6.2 or lower and check run-off. There are several ways to correct the pH.

It is pretty important (at least for me and several others here) to have a dependable pH meter. I spent $50 on my Apera PH20 and wish I had done it at the beginning of my growing. It is very dependable and easy to use.

Not saying that is your problem but it could be. Hope this helps. Jerry

That takes one variable out of your problem. The pH is THE most important part of growing cannabis I believe. Are you checking the run-off?

I agree @TxGrowman
Most important IMO is lighting and PH.

I would raise the light as others have suggested and try lowering your PH down to 6.5’amd check runoff to see where the root zone is at

Yeah I raised my lights up to about 24 26 inches. The pH is a little high
about 6.8 but I’m going to lower it down some more. These are WW clones but
I also got 3 Sour Deasels that are really looking good. Thanks for the
advice my friend. Chromie here.

@Rdg1951 are you using any type of nutrients for your plants?

Yes but not real strong. I’m using Fox farm big Bud and some other stuff I
don’t remember. Old timer memory…lol.

If your using fox farm ocean it has some heat to it ( nutrients ) when you water the lower leafs are getting wet or splash back on leafs you should be fine if it’s just happening on bottom around medium  Hope this helps she looks nice and healthy otherwise even happy frog has done the same to me as well

Okay hogmaster. I think I might have had the lights a little too close.
I’ll keep an eye on them and let you all know how it’s going. Chromie here.
