What causes ph to drop?

Question,i mix my nutrients to 5.8,i pour into my dwc, test the next day and it has dropped to 5.2,what causes this?

Numerous factors can contribute to the pH dropping. Even just CO2 being absorbed into the water can make pH more acidic.

But most likely, it is just your plant using up nutrients and exchanging ions into the water/nutrient solution. Keeping an eye on the EC/PPM/TDS should confirm this.

Also, it is quite normal for the pH to drop during flower.

Happy growing,
