Does anyone know what causes airy buds, genetics, lack of lighting, lack of air movement? If I can prevent this, would like to know if anyone does know how to prevent it, or the cause. Thanks. @bob31 @Countryboyjvd1971 @M4ur @Hogmaster @Screwauger

I don’t know what you are asking, but maybe some pictures will help me to find out.
From what I’ve read, the experts point to insufficient light generally being responsible. But I’m sure those are all valid factors.

Not enough nutrients , too much… not getting pH in check…etc etc etc… All of it contributes. I don’t think you can point to any one thing in general but moreso a combination of things unless youd like to have us look at someones recent grow perhaps in support ticket format?

I’M with @Myfriendis410 , Intensity of light and bad light spectrum are the most common reason and factor for “hairy buds” with, of course, like @bob31 mention, not enough or too much love

Lack of light intensity, and possibly too weak a nutrient solution. First you need enough light to allow the plant to take more nutrients and denser nugs.

I think the lights seems to get the most blame, but I think that if any part of your grow if off it will affect your yield/ bud structure!

Thanks to all that responded. @bob31 @Niala @M4ur @Myfriendis410, basically proper light and nutrition they’ll be fine. I don’t have buds yet, but would like to get the best quality I can. I know I’ve started too many, but this was my first grow, and next time will be even better, as we all attempt to do.

If you have tight thick buds on top and light down below it’s obviously light

I had it with two plants and they both had ph problems. They both had ph that wouldn’t get pass 5.8. I got it back right but it made my buds airy and it killed the smell and. Taste but I still smoke it I just mix it with my good crop

@Covertgrower I agree with everyone’s assessment. Light plays a big part but al the reading I’ve done points to a lot of different things meaning light, air circulation, nutrients etc. they all play a part in getting nice thick nugs.

Light intensity for the size of your grow space too little light fluffy airy buds too much light dried shrunken buds.
Airy buds … In my case, I recently harvested some pretty lightweight indoor buds. I got lazy and didn’t swap my 5000K and 6500K lights out for something lower when I went to flower. I thought, full spectrum is full spectrum, right? Evidently not. Same plants I’ve been growing for years, same setup, same process, just didn’t swap to some 2700 or 3000K lights for flowering.
As above, there can be many causes. That one was mine.

I also had airy buds this grow. Two Sour D’s and two ww. Both were airy and had small buds. Half of the 1000w full spectrum light went out 3rd week or so into flowering so I assume this was what happened. RDG1951( Chromie).

If you had full spectrum why is it a set kelvin? It should span a range
