Should I give them a little Epsom salt to ripen them?
This my first grow so I really don’t know when to cut them.
Depends on what type of high you want
Trichs are tricky. They are constantly being created so the early ones will go amber first while others are still clear. You need to ensure you’re looking all over the bud and not as much on the sugar leaves. You’re looking for a consensus of cloudy in most cases which will definitely mean there are ambers as well. I think you’ve got a little more time based on those photos but the window is longer than you’d think.
The amber ones have CBN which has sedative properties. My preference is to avoid too much amber. If I want CBN and body high, I just let the THC break down to CBN in canna oil. Stew it longer and get a deep body high. That way I have my uplifting smoke. But again, that’s my preference and not necessarily yours.
For highest THC levels, harvest when nearly all the clear trichomes have turned milky white. This will produce buds with the most mind-altering effects.
This sounds pretty good to me.
I have not ever known the names of any of the weed I bought in the last 10 years or so.
Never paid that much attention to the type of high until lately. I dried out some of the small flowers from the under growth and it seemed to give an energetic high which I liked.
You can add some epsom salts if you’d like.
Looking good @roost1
As others have commented it depends on what you like. As long as the clear goes away, I’m set.
Hey, looking awesome!!!
Be proud!!!
As others have said, the goal is to harvest when trichomes are cloudy.
My goal is to harvest when I see approx. eighty percent cloudiness and twenty percent amber in trichome ripeness level.
Again outstanding job buddy!!!
Here are the photos from the week of April 1 thru 7.
They turned amber really fast towards the end of the week and based on the photos I went ahead with the harvest last Sat and Sunday.
