Week 3 of flowering White Widow Extreme

Im in week 3 of flowering and my 10 WW plants are looking good! Seeing production sites all over. My water level is good other than changing the water every 3 to 4 days now. I may boost my nutes this week. I haven’t really had any signs of nutrient burn since early in the vegetative stage. A friend of mine was preferring that I should cut my fan leaves because of the over crowdedness. What do you guys thinks of that? Other than that, these girls are growing happily!!

No…never cut your fan leaves.
They are the heart of your plant. They take the energy from the light and sends this energy through out your plant and with out the fan leaves your plant will not give you good quality po and your yeild will suffer big time if your plant don’t die first.

I disagree , you can trim some of the leaves to help get more light penetrating through your canopy , but don’t get cut happy it can stress your plant if done wrong . Place your hand under the very bottom of your plant and you should have at least 30% of light coming thru , if not than some pruning or trimming can be done without harming your plant and actually help your lower bud sites .

“can stress your plant if done wrong .” @yoshi…your girl will stress, stop growing for a week or two, maybe hermie bud sites…

Plan ahead, for now try just bending them into the background if possible. “They are the heart of your plant.” @garrigan62

I agree, never cut fan leaves.

…they look beautiful but if it’s stressing you you can add side lighting, you can harvest the tops first then let the lower buds go for a couple weeks, you can do a lot of things but I wouldn’t cut fan leaves

I done it oth ways , and my biggest buds was when I trimmed the bigger fan leaves that shadowed the buds which allow them more light , but we all have our different methods of growing . I had success both ways , not trimming and trimming . When I didn’t trim , I had a lot of small popcorn buds , but when I did trim I had big full colas , so you can leave the top big fan leaves and trim the lower ones , are you can leave them and have a lot of smaller buds , to each is own , experimenting is how you master your growing techniques and until you try you will never know the outcome . Happy Growing !!!
