Water distiller for FECO / QWET

Hey guys, I need a water distiller for FECO / QWET I don’t want to purchase and source turbo or what not, unless it’s like highly recommended, but for what I have and grow a water distiller would be perfect for me. I know it’s not supposed to get too hot, so maybe a water distiller with temp controls should work. If anyone has any suggestions that’ll be great!

An RO system would get the job done. RO water and distilled are equivalent.

It’s for making FECO / QWET with everclear, not distilling water

Got it. @Covertgrower can probably help here.

Thanks!

I have a distiller still in the box if you are interested.

What kind? And why aren’t you using it?

Buy the Source Turbo: much more versatile and designed specifically for what you want to do.

I second the source turbo.

I agree that the Source does exactly what you need, but if you’re gonna go with the distiller, then I have some tips.

Lowest setting. It will constantly kick off, so you will have to raise the temp 1° to kick it back on. Then lower it back down. Time consuming but can do a larger batch than the Source.

Mark on glass container the 2/3 reduction point. After reaching this point, remove wash. Then evaporate it the rest way down using a heating pad, with a couple pencils under the glass.

I recommend using a magnetic heat plate for that part, but the heating pad will work. Just keep an eye on the temps with an Infrared Thermometer Gun

I will be going with the distiller to try for now. Any recommendations for a heating / magnetic pad? Also how does the pencil thing work?

I’ve been using one for years now. Decided to save my money for building my closed loop setup.

Amazon has them, and really, they’re all the same.

The pencils lift the container up off the heating pad. Then you’ll have an easier time maintaing temps. Otherwise, sitting directly on the heating pad will get you well above the low 80’s, and your terps will suffer.

The pencil thing is just used if you go with a heating pad or seedling mat. That magnetic stirrer can be adjusted and checked randomly with an infrared gun.

I have a magnetic stirrer but not the heating portion, will look into this. Do you stir your tincture while you heat or no?

Tincture, no stirring - reduce by half
FECO/RSO, yes - reduce 2/3 and heat stirrer to complete.
