Do you do the whole pot happy frog?
Yes, whole pot, from clones or seedlings all the way to harvest, not nearly as hot as Ocean Forest so you can use your nutes pretty quick with it.
You do that with seedlings too? (I’m sorry I ask too many question) at what week do you start feeding when planted in FFAF ? I didn’t think it was a good soil cuz I read a lot about coco whatever soil and promix but if you have good grows with it I will stick with it too.
I’ve been using Happy Frog for a couple decades, been very happy with it, I do add some perlite to it for better drainage. In happy frog, I usually start light dose feeding at end of week 2, where as with ocean forest, it’s like 4 to 5 weeks. Nothing wrong with Promix or coco, they are all just a little different.
I do plan on trying a coco grow in the very near future though.
Hellraiser has you set.
I don’t mean to question you in a bad way but are you sure this is a sign that needs to be fed? Because I was reading and it looks very similar to when is over feeding. I don’t want to feed her more and she doesn’t need too… what do I do? @Hellraiser thank you so much for your help!
Alright so I did feed them Saturday but only 1.5 tsp of the FF trio like @Hellraiser said But Some leaves are still turning colors … I’m getting confused with these mixed signals not sure if it needs to be fed more or if is too much! Please help me @Deepsix @Cannabian @dbrn32 @Covertgrower @bazoo
What light do you have again?
What it is it dimmed to?
It’s more the lower canopy… I have two 320w HLG and they are dimmed like 50% my auto flowers are fine with it tho… only my photos are showing these signs
This is how the other side of the mutant photo is looking like@Covertgrower
Are you able to check run off ppm and ppm going in? This will tell us how hungry she is.
So you think I’m not feeding enough? I thought it could be over feeding…because I’m not used to what it looks like. I can’t do it today because they are sleeping but I can water them and check the run off Tomorrow because I don’t know how you guys do the soil testing thing
This will verify one way or the other.
Yeah thats not noot burn, if it was it would be showing on the newer growth too. That seems ph related and not a deficiency. You may have all the food there, its just not available.
But I PH my water every time and it’s always between 6.25 to 6.50… is that not where it should be ? @Cannabian
Thats good that you do that, but remember that you are using salts ( fertilizers ) and not all are being consumed by the plant. In addition, the medium you are in is breaking down and a reaction is taking place with the interaction of root chemistry and soil chemistry. That can change the soil ph over time. If you read most if the manufacturers recommendations they usually include a flush in the cycle to remove salts and help stabilize the ph as a result of this interaction between residual salts and soil chemistry. Does this help for you to understand why its not enough to just ph your solution ?
Like in a perfect world your ph would be perfect, and your fertilizer proportions would be perfect and the environment would be perfect. The plant would use all the noots and there would be nothing left come feeding time. This is impossible and because of this, the soil chemistry goes out of whack.
Yes! That helped me out a lot! But it’s not like I’ve feed them other times and never flushed them you know. This was the very first time. But yes tomorrow I will flush them I guess … is that considered the run off ? I usually give them 2L and they have a little bit of run which is enough to measure the PPM. @Cannabian
No collection of run off is not a flush. A flush usually requires 3 times the volume of the container. So if you are in 5 gallon pots 15 gallons of ph neutral water should be used to completely wipe the soil clean. It takes a bit of time to do, your water will start off looking brownish gucky and after the second bucket of water will start to clean up. Once you are done the wash, the soil is nothing more than a place for roots and is devoid of all things good and healthy. At this point I would mix a batch of food up and ph it and water your already soaked material. It will he good for a few day more than likely. Its already saturated sona good feeding wont hurt anything. anyway, Ive always found a big tub with a masonry block in the middle works great. Stand the plant up on the block so the water can run out into the tub. Check you run off for ph and ec before and after if you dont believe m, you will be a believer after a good flush! They all become believers.
