Vacume seal seeds

Hi, I can’t seem to find an answer to this question,
When vacume sealing your seeds for long term storage (5 to 10) years in frig, do you seal them in the vacume bag by themselves, or vacume seal them in the container they came in then store them, I guess I’m asking if the vacume bag will crush the seeds,

If I were to vacuum seal them, I’d place them inside of a padded envelope and place the envelope in the vacuum bag and seal it.

That is a good idea, Mr. Digital I could also fold a paper towel and place the seeds inside the paper towel and vacume seal it, do you think they will germinate after 5 or even 10 years?

There’s no telling. Really depends on the seed. People have sprouted seeds they’ve had for 15 or more years and I don’t think they were ever vacuum sealed.

I would imagine if sealing more then one seed in a pack that it would be highly possible that they could smash together and damage each other. I’d try it with some bunk bag seeds or something to see what they could take if I could

I’m doing the refrigerator, plastic bag and silica packs method but tagging along here always keeping an eye open for better methods.
