UV A flowering ( SF 30W)

Hey guys and girls sorry I’ve been popping in daily to keep my massively long streak going and updating my current grow but life has been kicking me in the you know what’s.

So I just added 2 SpiderFarmer 30W UV bars to my grow.

Trying to find any information that gives guidelines is slim to none out there.
The only thing I found was Mars Hydro saying ( I believe it was them) but regardless someone said to run for 90-120 minutes during last 3 weeks of flower.
I have probably 3 weeks left give or take and just set them up to run for 90minutes about 3 hours before lights out.
Just curious if anyone uses UV A bars and what gets you the best results?
As usual I appreciate any feedback and tips and if anyone is wanting to add UV bars they have a $20 off coupon on the set on Amazon right now just an fyi.

I usually run my UVA the hole 12 hr I use them in veg as well

You run them in flower for 12 hours? I’m doing autos and doing 20/4.

Yes,I run them in veg as well for 18 hours there’s UVA,IR in nature it gives it a more complete spectrum in my opinion

Fair enough I’ll probably swap it over and run with the regular lights the entire time. I was thinking UVB which harms the plants but I’m running UV A so I wasn’t thinking I could run the entire time

UVB is the one you need to limit use.

Yea I had to read into it more.
I set my timer the same as my regular light so here’s hoping I get something amazing :). Thanks for the input, the whole UV thing is new to me and there is so much different info, conflicting info etc ( like with all things cannabis lol)

HLG recommends that their 20 watt UVA be used in a 4x4 or larger, and at least a 24 or more canopy distance. I tried this light in a 2x3 at 18 inches, and it burnt the plants at just two hours on time. I tried it again in another 2x3 at 28 inches and it burnt the leaves again. I guess it depends on the size of your tent.
I just put the UV light back in the box, and put on the shelf for now, even though I now have 5x5 tent. There just doesn’t seem to be enough benefits to the UVA to offset the problems that I had. Also I don’t like worrying about the eye protection required with UV.

I use hlg UVA in my 3x3 and 2 in the 4x4 I don’t see any damage you have to have the environment on point I run them the same as main light plans love it,you should be using growing glasses regardless leds are very bright and will harm your eyes

I just saw that AC Infinity now carries a two pack of 11 inch UVA lights, for $59. As usual it looks to be high quality, and comes with it’s own dimming control. This may work better in a small tent, and at a better price.

Run your uva bars the entire “day” cycle or entire time main light is on. You would only want to run uvb for 1/2 to 1 hour at the end of the light cycle

AC Infinity sold out of their new UV lights in one day! They must have a lot of loyal customers.

They do, everything they been releasing lately has been selling out super quick. The new fans, the humidifier etc they all on backorder / preorder status. As someone who wants one of the new humidifiers it’s annoying
