(Didn’t know where to post this thread, excuse me if its in the wrong place, its not intended as a grow journal I was just curious.)
Hi Guys, I was just wondering how usual or usual is it to have a plat with three leaves (kinda like a four leaf clover but three w a pot plant ;o). It got my attention when I noticed it had 3 Cotyledons, I thought ok, a little odd. Then when the first set of leaves came in, they came in threes. I think I remember reading in one of the threads (raustin’s maybe) that she had twins from one seed.
What do you guys think will happen when she gets topped?!
Thanks in advance
I have a tomato that sprouted that way. Its just an uncommon occurrence. Not really a problem.
The others I have seen here seem to grow normally when this happens.

That is very cool. If it were mine, I would not top it or anything. I would want to see how it grew. Would definitely take several cuttings (when it gets bigger) to preserve it just for experiments and for fun.
Thanks guys, I thought it was pretty funky myself. @merlin44, I was wondering about the topping aspect, would hate to top her but will if I have to.
We’ll see how the lst goes, I’ll try to leave that shoot alone if at all possible.
Clarification, just that one plant is Tahoe og, the others are different strains
Yep, should be interesting to see what she does as she develops. It’s been putting out sets of three leaves so far, the latest set coming in looks a little funky, a day or two should reveal more.
OK, so, Funky Town is right @GreenCoat, @merlin44, @Jarnkat.
Apparently “a day or two” for me and the plants means 10 days ± LOL
Its taken this long to see how Tahoe OG developed since the last set of pictures.
She (and her sibs) is nice and healthy, so far so good. Today is about month (32 days) since she broke soil.
I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves…

That tight cluster that you see at the beginning took a while to work itself out. I remember looking at it a lot and could not make out what was happening, that one leaf thats all curled up took a while to unfurl. Now you can clearly see in the april pictures she has Two perfectly formed Tops going at once, topped herself it seems LOL. Super cool plant, I love her, she is just rocking.
I was hoping she would continue putting out sets of 3 leaves but I think that was it.
Soil is ffof so no nutes for a while except for CalMag which I recently started.
Will commence lst this weekend, hopefully.
Thanks for looking
First thing I thought of when I saw the twisted leaves was a bit too much calcium. Then I got to the bottom and read you were adding Calmag. You can probably smidge it back a bit without any harm.
How much are you using per/?
Looking good, but top off those pots with more medium!
Hi @EclecticJack, I just started w the calmag, and doing only 1/8th recommended dose.
Definitely not calmag overdose
She had the twisted leaves cause she has been putting out sets of 3s since “birth” hence the title of thread. She’s the only one w 3 leaves & twists, the other girls are behaving, for now.
Agree about the soil, I knew I was light, I just recently transplanted and will be adding more soil this weekend.
Not watering to runoff just yet so it will settle even more in the future when I do full waterings.
Very Cool!!! That’s great, the more the merrier
Wish I could revise the title of the thread to Funky Town ( or Misfits, more of a KinKs ref. LOL)
Tag me in if you’re doing a grow journal for Jack, lets see what these girls do.
How old is she and whats the strain (Jack Herer?!)
Usual!
it stopped putting out threes once it got going NOt going to lie, was hoping it would continue its odd behavior. Lovely plant still in spite of being a tease.
Great smoke & high too so there was that consolation price
