I’m having a very warm humid summer and my flower room RH levels are mostly around 70. I’ve tried adding fans, turned my 6 ac infinity up all the way, and I can’t get it down. I’ve also killed 2 filters lately because of this… I’m not a happy camper right now. I’m willing to spend whatever it takes but I’m hoping it can be a fairly simple setup. Looking for options and opinions from people who have solved this problem. I tried putting a standup dehumidifier in my room and it heated it up way too hot…
Hope to hear some good ideas soon.
I am not the one to solve the problem. But for anyone to help I think more info is needed.
Is it a dedicated enclosed room? Size
existing environmental controls - A/C, where do duct exhaust etc etc
Can you bring dehumidified air into the flower room?
Dehumidifiers work well and fairly cheap. Its hot and humid here in texas and i have to use it when flowering and does fine
How did ur dehumidifier heat it up?
You can take a stand alone AC unit and duct it to your bottom tent vent and adjust to desired and or acceptable humidity levels.
I live in South Texas and my HLG lights keep my humidity in check. We are extra humid right now since we are getting pounded by rain.
Yep south texas for me too. Houston. Sucks texas isnt legal but I love my state
You are not overly far from me. I get my medical treatment at the Houston VA Hospital. But I live on the coastline.
Nice. Well not having to get medical treatment but u not being far. Dont see many texans on here. We probably be the last to legalize but we have a stong economy and cheaper cost of living so its all good
It’s in my basement, and it’s approximately 11x8. No ac and running about 78 degrees lights on. To be honest, I’m having ductless AC’s installed tomorrow. One will be near my grow room in the finished part of my basement so I plan to duct air in from there. Not sure that will solve my problem but hoping to gain more control. My grow room is perfect in the winter. I’ll post a pic in a minute.
My dehumidifier throws hot air out while it dies it’s job. Idk
Is that not normal? I have to run one constantly in my finished basement to keep humidity down.
There’s a bunch of Texans on here you haven’t seen yet.
If room volume is large you will need more than a Home Depot floor A/C can deliver. I bought a dehumidifier for my space that was supposed to manage a ‘bedroom’ and it had to work to keep RH low in 125 cubic feet.
I wouldnt say than normal but i guess depends on brand. Mine doesnt have any kinda heat
Im sure there is but I haven’t got to conversate with alot of ppl. Just recently interacting on more post. I joined in 2018 but was off and on with growing and lately on here the most. I like reading alot here. This forum got me through my very first grow and reason i know what i know now
Here’s some pics if it helps. Very humid here this time of year. I probably empty 4-6 gallons a day outta the one in my finished basement.
So you can imagine my grow room from watering the flower girls
I have 3 fans in the grow room (2 oscillating and the other not).
Whatever you get make sure it has an auxiliary drain. Probably a large room A/C (seeing some good prices on units at H.D.) that you could elevate and drain into a bucket for some bonus free distilled water haha.
All you really need is to be below 50% RH to avoid bud rot.
I looked up just basement humidity control and it said to major ways is insulation ( maybe some foam board on exterior walls) and ventilation. That’s all I could think to try
I appreciate the help but I insulated everything including the ceiling prior to putting up the reflective paper. I’m at a loss… just so damp this year in my basement t even with minimal rain.
I would think that would definitely help.
