LSD auto from bergs DWC AN feed 3gal buckets 600w hps mh had it turned dwn to 400 seemed pretty hot .
All seemed to be going fine looking real good then stopped growing flowers weren’t fattening up no growth 2 1/2 weeks tore room apart sad!.
First time grow on own have had some experience, guessing I had root rot issue
Definitely looks like it could be root rot. Was you using Hydroguard? Whats the temperature of your nutrient solution? You can mix them up a solution with peroxide (food grade or hydro peroxide) and let that run it your buckets for a couple days. It will help the root rot
Water temps play a crucial part in hydro grows. Warm water temps will absorb nutes better but will also grow nasty stuff in your water easier.
On the other hand, cold water doesn’t absorb nutes as easily, but also doesn’t grow nasties as easily. That’s why it’s recommended keeping water temps around 68*f. Hydroguard will also help protect roots.
If I was a betting man, when you didn’t have as many roots, the water was cooling down the air being pumped into your buckets just enough for you to get by with growing but as your roots filled the bucket, the less water there is to cool the air pumped into your buckets.
Now once your water gets too warm, pH starts to fluctuate. When your pH fluctuates, then your plant quits feeding, If your plants quit feeding, your nutes what little you have in that bucket will get stale and grow nasties even quicker.
It’s not growing in hydro that’s not cutting it, it’s how your going about it. There are lots of folks here that grow hydro and lots of different ways to grow in hydro. They grow big plants. Hydro is not good for small tents, buckets, or autos IMO. Maybe autos but not the other two… lol
The plants and roots get too big for small spaces.
If you want to grow hydro, there are ways to do it so you will literally be bored with your grow… haha.
More water makes it easier to keep pH and ppm’s in check within your root zone. Having a chiller hooked up to your system also insure one to keep the water a more consistent temp.
Some folks can get away with not having a chiller but most can’t.
If you really want to grow hydro, hang in there, we can help.
These are the things that keep me in soil. Sorry about your loss @AgroNov. It hurts my heart when one of my plants dies too. Its unavoidable. We give these plants life, care for and nurture them. Its like when a pet dies. Dont give up, she wouldnt want you to give up. Gotta grow more, healthier plants in the future to atone for killing this one.
What all nutrients was you running? There is some other options to Hydroguard that might be available in your area maybe. And yes your right if your running any beneficial microbes peroxide will kill it. Thats really your options though. Run something like Hydroguard in your solution or run a sterile rez with peroxide. Hydroguard will allow you to run a little higher water temp along with more air, and be ok. If you want to stick with hydro id ditch the buckets and get a couple totes
Just try a different medium brother! This is for EVERYONE, just have to find YOUR way! I tried coco before soil, and would never go back to coco, and I won’t ever even try hydro seems way to difficult for my basic mind
PH perfect base advanced nutrient b-52 bud candy voodoo juice tarantula calmag. So I should do nothing but the base with peroxide. Seenum in totes. ok individually; to have more room air flow cooler solution at roots. Would like stick with the hydro but if I should start off in soil since I’m a complete novice at this, won’t stop trying. Never grew anything before this quit an experience and I love it
Thanks to all for input really appreciate it
Now to start all over.
Never have messed with any other but water not to sure where start as the name stays hahahaaa novice!.
Try a light soil bro, I use Bio Bizz light mix or all mix, both have given me great results, this is my forbidden runtz auto now day 63 from sprouting. This my second ever proper grow, on my first I tried coco and I couldn’t get on with it at all, changed to Bio Bizz soil and nutrients and I’m over the moon with both, pretty cheap and all organic too!
This is the same as Hydroguard and cheaper. If your wanting to stick to hydro. Literally my hydro setup i check my water levels every 3 days. Top off my rez, set my ph. And im good for 3 days. I could let it go 5-7 days if i wanted.
Soil is definitely easier to start off with. If something like Fox Farm Happy Frog/Ocean Forest or Coast of Maine is available to you. Id recommend those if you want to grow in soil to get your feet wet
