Under $500 2x2 build

With your help i have decided to go with a hlg 135w qb for lighting and that is $140 lets say 150 with shippment. So i have 350 left, i am going to buy a $65 growing tent from a local supplyer so $285. 75 i would like to spend on some seeds and 50 on pots, soil, nutrients, 10 on a timer for the light. That leaves me with 150. Te question i have is what ventilaton sistem including recirculating fan, exhaust fan and carbon filter should i go for ?
Any imput is welcome. Thank you.

Suggest an input fan for a lower port. I’ll let someone else address carbon filters. I have no idea how to do that for a 2x2. All of the filter solutions I am aware of will tip you over that last $150.

You should consider pH and PPM meters too. It’s a very important thing to monitor during your grow.

I spoke with the guy at the store and he said far a little extra he can make for me nutrient solutions as i specify. This is only temporary because i dont have lots of cash right now.

I think for a first grow in soil, an inexpensive (Hanna) pH meter would be sufficient. Even pH strips would work, if you’re only adding water. I’m not sure TDS/PPM matters just yet. I’d say buy nice or buy twice.

At this point i figgured letting someone else do it will cheaper at first and easyer for me. In future i will certainly buy ph an ppm meters, but for now i am more concerned with ventilation and what brands to trust

That’s the rationale behind bagged soil, my friend.

A pH meter is probably one of the most important things besides light and seeds and soil

That much i can go over the budget so thank you all i will get a ph meter too.

For the fan and filter i just want proper ventilation and te exhausted air to be odorless.

About the flex seal that will not be a poblem for me beacuse i will do this in a basement which has a window just enough for intake air duct and it is dark in there so light penetration from either way really will not affect me.
Thank you, i will look into the 4" fan as the ac infinity is far out of my budget.

I’m running a 2x2x4 setup. For lighting I went with HLG 135 watt v2 Rspec at $185. A pH meter is a must, What ever you do, stay away from iPower carbon filters. Absolute crap and their customer service is about the same. As far as an exhaust fan goes, I went with AC Infinity T4. I understand that is out of your range but, if you can swing it…
