Trying to figure out when to cure

I am on day 9 of the drying process. I bend the stems and they break but still have some fibers connected. I don’t want to over dry. When is it a safe time to put them in the jars?

Now. The fibers are always going to be there. This is why they made rope from hemp.
If the stems snap then you are ready to jar the buds.

Time to start curing! If they are too dry, a small piece of orange peel, or a couple fresh leaves in the jar will kind of help reconstitute them.

Good job! Most first timers jar to early and get a bad smell

I agree with the above. If it ‘snaps’ then it’s ready. Usually I jar when it ‘cracks’ but before it completely snaps. Of course sometimes they need to be taken out and allowed to dry a tad more

I have 62% Boveda packs for the jars. Will they bring the moisture back if too dry?

Hovers Pcks are more for maintaining a level of moisture then adjusting it. It may tip them back the right direction, but won’t be enough to make a huge difference.

Just checked them each day burp the jar, and you will be able to smell if there’s too much moisture, and if that happens, just let them air out right in the jar. It’ll be fine to do that from this point forward if the stem is cracking. Like another reply, said, that stringing this is just part and parcel of the girls figure lol. If you open the jar and you smell anything like hay… it needs more dry time, but you can just leave the jar open. Best of luck.

I’m on the 2nd day of curing and there is no hay or ammonia smell. All pure cannabis.

Throwing a fresh leaf in the jar is a great tip. This saved me last year when had to dry in a hot garage (had no choice ).
