I got some autoflower seeds here, and germinated them in May. They were in the ground sprouting by May 17th. I kept them in a window until early June at which point I moved them outside. They seem to look great, although they are pretty short (under a foot for sure). Given its been 11 weeks should I let them keep growing? You can see how tall it is in the last photo.
Let them finish up Growmie. Autos need a great start or you’ll end up with a 12” flowering cannabis plant. The period you had these on the window sill robbed them of some valuable lighting, environmental and nutrients would be the other 2 needs to be dialed in for a good start and finish
Thanks OG, any thoughts as to when they will be ready? Am I looking for something specific that tells me they are good?
When pistols turn amber start looking with magnifying glass my friend happy growing
A typical flower period would be 8-10 weeks on Idicas and 10-14 weeks on Sativas. I start checking trichomes once the pistils have turned amber and start receding. You’ll need a mag glass or jewelers loop to be exact or in the harvest window
Thanks everyone. The pistils are definitely amber colored now, and the trichomes appear pretty milky to the naked eye. I will take a look under magnification to confirm however. Is the general consensus to harvest at that point or do people prefer further development?
My vote would be to let them grow a little longer. They don’t look quite ready to me.
I will give it another week and see how they come along. Thanks!
No ,don’t trash it. Keep a eye on the trichomes on the actual bud, not so much the leafs. When they start turning amber, cut em down. They’ll change quicker on autos than photos. At least you’ll have a nice big bud.
