Hey everyone. I’ve just flipped my Durban’s to flower about a week ago. I’ve noticed my soil levels have dropped a inch or two since I started growing. Would it be beneficial to add a inch or two of fresh soil to my pots or could it cause issues with root or stem rot? I’m in 5 Gallon grow bags by the way. Thanks in advance.
You could add some without a issue, but in my experience it’s not necessary. My soil always compacts down, I’ve never seen a problem because of it. You could use your fingers to rake and break up the top layer of soil.
Top inch or so is already loose. My thinking was by adding some soil maybe the roots would move up into that loose soil some.
@Reeferleafer they will the roots will grow up top of soil i grow organic i add compost top laying when flipping lights
Go for it , definitely not going to hurt anything. I usually mix in a little super worm frass Or worm castings when I had a little soil. Good luck
@Reeferleafer it would probably be similar to the top dressing a lot of growers use for feeding. And they do say take a stretched seedling and bury her up to her neck and she’ll root out so why now?
