To top, fim or to Not an Autoflower, Please Advise

Ok folks, so I am at the point where I have had friends suggest that I need to top or fim my plant… I am at the 4th node on both plants… I have read it is not necessary to Top or Fim an autoflower since I am growing inside a tent I will be using the scrog method … any advice is appreciated.

You don’t have to. you can tie the branches down. Autos are finicky ladies. They set their own clock. Could flower anytime.

That is what I thought… when do i need to start LST on them?

Lst can begin anytime. You don’t want leaves touching the soil, so u may want to wait. I’m going to send a support ticket to fill out.

I will do the best i can…
ILGM, Bruce Banner feminized Autoflower

Coast of Maine, 5 gal fabric pot with a 16" water tray underneath.

I buy wally world’s spring water, its at 6.7ph… no need to down the ph to 6.5 is what I figured, since they recommended 6 to 6.8ph…

Not sure what your asking here…nutes are already in bag, for it says 5gal pot will be good for 30 days… when I do feed it will be 3 to 4ml cal mag with 10ml gold leaf in 1 gal. Feed will be every 3rd watering…

Indoor, AC Infinity 4x2 200w led full spectrum ionboard, reg filter and heavy duty carbon filter, inline fan, 2 reg 8inch fans, 1 2inch fan, humidifier…

Temps day 70-75°f, night 66-72°f
Humidity day 60-70%, night around 57-62%

Photo’s above.

Is this what you want??

Impo if this is your 1st ever grow id recommend just letting them grow naturally get a feel for the strain if you do want to do anything tho id suggest lst its easy and well low stress to the plant there are tons of people thay top or fim autos but if you aren’t experienced with growing in general id suggest getting a feel first before jumping head over heels into stressing out plants

I fimed my purple kush auto and she had a lot of colas. She is drying out now. I just topped my Bruce banner and gorilla glue autos. Top or fim at week 3 start training 3 days later and I take off the first 2 branches and clone those. Not recommended but i like to mess around. Then keep tying her down as she grows out. By week 5 she is in preflower. I’m new to all this myself. Just started this kind of training this year. I’m going to keep practicing and learn the mainline and manafolding techniques next. Happy growing bud.

Welcome to the community and your ladies look great. Adding a net will make it difficult if you ever need to move them around and with 2 plants I would top and LST :love_you_gesture:

@Lost4Sure Hello. I’m currently working on my first autos, GSCE. I’m having mixed feelings myself about the topping/fimming. I followed the no topping after having mad success on an outdoor sativa dominant strain on my last grow. My 4 girls are all distinctly showing separate pheno type behavior. I wish I’d of gotten ahold of them earlier on. I want an even canopy so all the flower can drink the light from the same distance. I have one who’s center was taking off upwards and I finally pinched her off about 10 days ago, but on the flip side I have one so short I propped her up on blocks. I’m considering super cropping the center colas on the taller ones for control. I’ve been steadily lst tying/spreading them out almost daily. Mostly I’m satisfied.

I lollipop at the bottom and am very heavy handed defoliating up higher.

Welcome to the community ! Plants look great It is definitely a preference but if you choose to top one more node and go for it. Personally I like a Bush style plant more so than Christmas tree for indoor grow. Slows down the upward growth a little an let’s side branches catch up too make a nice even canopy. Good luck :v::+1:

I would fim them youll have great results now is the time to do it. I have bruce banner autos growing and they took to fimming like a duck to water and they were about that same size. You have time where you can fim it twice. Your only in your second week right
