To Clip Or Not To Clip - Smalls

Unfortunately due to my schedule lately, I haven’t been able to get in much research nor time with my plants. But hopefully all that has changed after today.

I went ahead and trimmed a bit of the yellowing/older leaves. But I’m questioning if I should clip off some of the lower and smaller flowers forming. Thinking the plant would spend that energy fattening up the larger and higher buds. Am I wrong on this?

Any and all advice welcomed.

Thanks!

That is logical up to a point. As long as you leave enough for the plant to be healthy. Many growers take everything off the bottom 1/3 of the plant. General rule is no more than 20% total vegetation should be removed at one time especially after flowering starts. Ideally, all trimming should be done before the plant is in full flower.

Yes , Clean up and clip around the bottom is a good thing. It will only produce small fluffy product. Good luck :v:

Couple of suggestions:

No need to worry about these. The plant will naturally shed the lower leaves as the plant ages.

Do you know your runoff pH and PPM?

I would switch to a product that is balanced for cannabis such as General Hydroponics, Advanced Nutrients, the Fox Farm Trio, or Jack’s 321.

Are any of those organic you know?
I’m trying to do as organic as possible.

Can’t help there. I’m not an organic grower, but there are a few around who will help.

Oh, and no unfortunately I do not know the runoff values. I hardly ever have any for one as I just water enough to where I see some dripping from the bottom of the container.
Also, my setup does not easily allow me access to the drip pan.

I have a couple of things to figure out and change before the next go at it.

I’m not looking at the leaves you cut off I’m looking at the leaves on the plant itself. The are light and yellowing with deep dark viens.
These plants need fed from the sounds of it everything NPK.
The leaf condition mostly shows N nitrogen but it is probably more a lack of everything.
Hey @PurpNGold74 can you call in someone that does organics to help.

Ahhhh gotcha. Yeah that plant on the right has sure been weird. It started off with super fast growth and has looked droopy and all for a number of weeks now. Crazy thing is, both plants are planted about the same time and treated exactly identical.
