Tied on some bamboo, is this ok?

A question from a fellow grower:

Hi… My plants are about six inches tall and I have tied bread ties on some bamboo to hold them up… Is this ok.? And is this usual for them to be so tall…?

I use bamboo all the time to time up my plants. Never a problem.

Your lights are either to far that’s causing them to stretch , instead of building root strength in stalk mass . I would think most tall plants have more hollow stems or branches than shorter plants .

Move your lights a bit closer say 3 inches from your plants only if your lights are cfl T5s.
What is your iight setup anyway
