So, I was thumbing through my photos and realized I took a picture right as my Female started Veg stage. (My first real grow)
Date of Veg pic: March 18th, 2020.
Today’s pics: June 13th, 2020.
I appear to be around week 3 of Flowering.
So that’s approximately 70-80 days from Veg to Flower.
Plant Grow Specs.
Bag seed
Strain: either Sour Diesel or Grape Ape
Lights: Full sun.
Dark: lightproof, weather stripped closet
Medium: Kellogs Organic garden/flower soil
Nutrients/Water: Do not use Nutes. Have only ever watered with PH balanced water.
Current PH: 6.7
Current light schedule: 12/12
I did not force flower her in any way. Only performed 1 topping, and some LST to her Lower branches to maximize.
Does the flower time and no forcing automatically make her an Autoflower?
And if so, should I stay on 12’s or ok to go to 18/4?
No, does not mean it’s an autoflower as the 12/12 light schedule forced the flowering. I would stay at 12/12 and finish her off.
Hey hellraiser, she started to flower before I switched her to 12/12
If she flowered at 18/6 or more light than yes she would be an auto.
This is from ILGM description of its White Widow Autoflower
In the past, many people did not realize that cannabis indica and cannabis sativa plants weren’t the only types of cannabis. In the early '80s a third species, Ruderalis, was brought to Amsterdam. This Siberian relative could flower after just a few weeks, regardless of light differences. This adaption helped the plant survive the rough Siberian terrain.
I have had Photos have flowers at 30 days above ground and I run a 12/12 start to finish. So no…iit doesn’t necessarily mean its a Auto.
Hey @MrPeat So you think I should just stay on the 12’s and not disrupt the cycle?
@beardless…sorry I don’t understand the comment. And I’m aware of Ruderalis. Just don’t see how the comment relates to my question.
Yup…she is flowering so 12/12 if fine.
I’d still stick to 12/12. Possible that you saw preflowers and then changed to 12/12, so if she is really not an auto, upping the light hours would cause a reveg. Best bet to play it safe, stick with 12/12.
She is looking good. I love growing 12/12 only. I don’t think its an Auto. But who knows. Only way to know is run at 18/6 and she will reveg as a Photo. A Auto don’t care long as it gets 12 hours a day.
But just stick with a 12/12 and you will have a nice plant.
Thanks @MrPeat, I’ll heed your advice!
Trying my best, never, ever been this close. Nerves are kicking in hard! Shame we can’t share our “rewards”.you and @Cannabian deserve a spliff for helping the newbie lol.
@DankBank22 It happened to all of us at some point. I almost quit but my sister reminded me of my natural Green Thumb. Glad she spoke sense to me. Now I am growing Super monsters and pulling over 2 lbs off 3 plants.
I had a harsh learning curve because I didn’t read nor join any forums when I started growing May 2018. Once you are dialed in, then watch your grows get better and better.
Autoflowers are bred to be autoflowers. The chance of a bag seed being the result of some thing being pollinated with ruderalis in it is remote to say the least
Female photo plants will start showing pre flowers when they’re mature enough, even under 18/6. This can be confused with actual flowering.
I’d let her finish. Re-veg will add at least another month, as well as possibly stressing her out too much.
Yeah agreed, I wouldn’t dare take a chance of reverting her back to Veg. Sticking with 12/12.
Anyone, is it too late to take a clone clipping from her? Would that cause too much stress at this point?
what @Drinkslinger said is pretty important, Ive been passing around this image of one of my photos, it has its female parts on it after 8 weeks or so of veg. Before this shows the plant is not sexually mature. Switching the light hours on a plant that is not sexually mature, in my mind could cause issues. When you see this
The plant is sexually mature and ready to be flowered. This plant will remain sexually mature for a few months and when the darkness reaches the right threshold for this plant it will trigger the flowering process.
Yeah, she Def had her Calyx and two pistils sprouted At least 2 or maybe even 3 weeks before I switched her to 12/12.
Just to be clear, I have no intention of Re-Veg at all. I honestly never knew about Autos until about a month ago so just been researching since. And started making me think she may be an Auto. But yeah thanks everyone.
She’s staying on 12’s and I can see fattening everyday now.
@DankBank22 I have plenty of Auto seeds myself. My first Blueberry Kush was the first plant I tried and it sisn’t survive the brand new FFOF soil since it was brand new.
I will make sure to have Photos growing starting around October till May if it don’t get to hot. Then for my summer indoor grows will be Autos and possibly 1 Photo. Since mine didn’t get overly tall.
