Thinking of going HPS/MH

I’m just getting back into this so all of my knowledge is old school. The hps/mh is all I’ve ever used. They work great but make sure you get a fan to cool the light if heat is an issue.

Mines a V1 it only cost me $170 to build 2xQB$47 ea and a $57 driver hig-240-2100 frame was free. I think its best to built them in pairs for more versatility

You can make them one at a time and keep using the HPS till you don’t need them anymore.
2 would work ok in a 5x5 but 3 would rock it

Or eliminate the slate 2 heatsinks and go with 1/8” aluminum.

Or go with a 600w mh and a 600w chps (huge red spectrum)

@dbrn32 how does this light look? It’s not a hlg but looks similar.

I live in Canada and they are in Canada which is a huge plus for me as I don’t have to deal with currency conversions and import taxes. Wanted the opinion of the pro.

As long as they’re using authentic top bin leds it looks good. Are you able to find legit reviews on them?

@dbrn32 the online sales rep said Samsung leds

That’s what it says in listing too. But doesn’t mean they will be top flux bin, or others have been busted using totally different LEDs altogether. They could be perfectly legit too.
