Three 3 gallon pots will easily fit in a 2x4. So… 10-12ish maybe? Depending on how you train them.

I like for each plant to have the best change of having maximum yield so I allow a 2x2 space for each plant. And a lot of times that’s not enough space. As @AloysiusDevadanderAbercrombie mentioned it does depend on what you’re planning on doing to the plants.

What seeds specifically?

Thinking about Mini-Gun and Gorilla and maybe a couple of other larger autos.I already have the seeds as freebies but I’ve never grown them before.

Also,I was thinking about screen of green, thats how I seem to get the best yields. Can you top them?

I think the specific “strains” you select are the most critical first step, because Lowryder is a uniquely small plant, whereas the current trend in autos seems to be full-size plants reaching 2x2x3 naturally.

If you have a tent, I question the decision to grow autos. It’s entirely up to you, I prefer the control of a photoperiod plant over autos indoors.

Ya,I prefer photos too,but this spring I will have some remodeling done to my house and may have to shut down for the summer so I wanted to squeeze in a quick grow when my current one finishes up in mid December.I have two tents,so I could pull out some pretty good numbers in a shorter time.Or should I do photos and an abbreviated veg time?

That’s a loaded question.

So, if the breeder does their job, you get a true F1 hybrid seed stock that will be reasonably consistent plant to plant. But many breeders seem to cut corners. If you had consistent seeds, you could grow a test-run and note the seedling to veg to flower times. That information could help you train the plants effectively in future runs. Yes, you can prune and train autos; but you don’t want to get caught pruning too close to the flowering.

I feel like @MrPeat runs 12/12 seed to harvest with photoperiod plants, and that’ll shorten up the grow a bit. I know there are many fast photoperiod varietals, and especially if you have a hard out, you want control. Can’t count the number of people on here who had autos run 7 months.

Yes I grow Photos and Autos strictly on a 12/12 start to finish. I don’t do a real Veg cycle at all. All my Photos turn into Monsters and Super Monsters. :+1::+1::+1:

^^^this

Breeders claims of seed to harvest in 8-10 weeks are maybe slightly exaggerated

Most of the ones I’ve seen average around 12. Some go 14-16. Some longer.

Depending on the flowering time of what you decide to grow, it might be a quicker turnaround to just run photos 12/12 from seedling.

How fo you get auto so big,and how much do yours produce? And are there any good autos from a reputable breeder that you know will finish fast?

thats not much of an improvement in time,LOL,thanks for the advice !

I hate Autos. They take just as long as a Photo to finish and the weight isn’t worth them when I can grow 3 Photos and get over 2 lbs dried, cured and no stems. .

The best looking autos I’ve seen have been from FastBuds.
