Thin shoots are growin from the top of the marijuana buds

Instead of entering vegetative growth with my marijuana plants, I go straight from clone to flowering to keep my marijuana plants at a manageable size. The buds are nice and large, but I continue to grow thin shoot from the tops of the colas. What are some ways to stop the shoots from growing? Does this have anything to do with the lack of blue light in my HPS lamps?

The skinny shoots are caused by high heat being radiated from the marijuana grow light. The light spectrum and the plant’s size are both irrelevant. To solve this problem, you should make use of an air- or water-cooled light to avoid the heat radiation.

In the meantime, you can simply prune those shoots off so that the marijuana plant doesn’t waste any energy on their growth.
