Thin, Dark and.. Beautiful?

A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks.

Things have finally taken off on my one survivor plant… do I need to thin out some of these leaves? I remember doing so before but I might have damaged them a bit. Plus do they need to be darker in color? Last years were darker.
Advice? (see pic)

I can’t access the pic.
I personally don’t trim leafs unless they are more than half dead. I’ll sometimes trim lower foliage or branches that won’t amount to anything but for the most part I let them be.
