The Clone Army is on the march

After a one day delay, the “Clone Army” has graduated from boot camp and are finally on the march to “Budville” WooHoo! (for perspective, these are in 1-gal nursery pots)
Future photos of the Clone Army will be under “natural” light. I was lazy :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I ended up planting 24 of the 26 cuttings that I took. Ran out of pots and soil plus one of them wilted and died. I followed the procedure that @WillyJ wrote up and posted a couple of weeks ago. Most of them had a mass of roots. The clones that I set using soil and solo cups were about 50% (at best) while the WillyJ technique clones appear to be nearly 100% successful. Thanks willyJ!

I will start looking for a new home for the excess plants when they start to actually grow.

Great job, @merlin44. The army is looking really nice.

Note to self (and other cloning newbies): I used “root-riot” plugs and followed @willyj 's procedure. The plugs that were the wettest had the least amount of root growth.

Got to keep humidity up but don’t have the rooting medium too wet. Lesson learned even though I think they will all survive despite my efforts to drown them.

Good Job @merlin44 ! That is definitely my idea of an Army I would join ! Good luck on your grow. Jerry

That’s great @merlin44 I’m glad things worked out good for you…and yes you only want the plugs to be moist not wet they will root faster if not to wet…:+1:

The Clone Army is still on it’s feet and continuing the march toward Budville.

All 24 of them have new growth although two of them are looking a bit puny so far.

All in all, a successful first cloning attempt.

I did take some cuttings from my flowering plants a couple of days ago for “Monster Cropping”. Initially, all four of them wilted over night but are looking better today after raising the humidity in the dome from about 70% to 90% plus. I will force them back to veg with 24/0 light schedule.

Mari is just cute as a button. She will do a good job for you @Momtomask.

That’s awesome @merlin44 ! :+1:t3: I have found that my clones seem to grow much faster than seedlings - have you noticed? I already put four in my flower tent in 3 gal pots.

I will need to watch the clones a bit more closely. I have been leaving them alone for the most part. Will need to start recording data soon (maybe tomorrow).

I don’t really have enough light in the propagation room for mine to really be happy. My hope is that the reduced light level ( and small pots) will slow their progress until the main room is finished with 12/12 in about 40 days or so. I may end up with a traffic jam.

I just went through those traffic jam problems with my flowering plants not finishing up fast enough but it seems to have worked OK. You have seen my light builds for the Veg tent to keep clones and seedlings happy - quite the adventure. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Indeed…you have a handle on the whole process. I am just getting my act together.

Haha - says the man with the graph progress chart :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well, there is that…:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::confounded: Making graphs is much easier and more predictable than growing living plants.

I just double checked, you and I have been marching in lock step from the beginning, it seems.
