The Case of the Sticky Icky Autos

Lol it was pretty funny. It sucked but it was funny

Hi @blackthumbbetty did the white leaf tips vanish?

They haven’t progressed, but they haven’t turned green, either. They seem to be growing fine…for now. :grinning:

Did you have an idea of what may have caused it, besides light burn? Lay it on me.

I’ve never seen anything like that white and the internet was not very forthcoming with info on white tip seedlings. I thought one hypothesis was that it was caused by the 24/0 cycle. I also thought some random type of nute burn, but you were using rapid rooter. The fact that it happened to two unique genetic plants is also interesting.

That’s all I got though. It will remain a mystery!

I thought the same re:the light cycle. I did change it to 20/4, but I also raised the light, so not sure which one was the culprit. Maybe both?

I’m still learning on this light.

Maybe. Perhaps also from droplets of water from humidity or misting that collected in the middle and burned the tip of the leaf when it was first emerging. Kinda a stretch though.

Chapter One (continued)

I’ve been waiting for some super secret packages needed to help move this case along. They finally arrived! Once I get back home, I’ll be transplanting the seedlings into peat pots filled with 75% Promix bx & 25% perlite, and watering them in with some Piranha. They’ll stay in the domed germination station for about another week; the heat mat will be turned on for the first 24-48 hours.

I’ll be back to add some photographic evidence, shortly.

Edit

Exhibit B

Mixed up about 6 lightly packed cups of Promix & 2 cups perlite. In a separate container, I mixed 4 cups r/o water with 2.5 ml Piranha, ending up w/ a natural pH of 6.2.

Then I mixed 2 cups of the Pirahna solution into the grow medium:

Next, I filled up my peat pots:

And started moving the babies into their new homes:

In their new homes. Heat mat on. Lights at 110w & 36" from tops. They were watered in w/ 3 tbsp of Piranha solution, each:

Everyone is doing great, except Fastberry. She isn’t growing up much & only one small root was sticking out of the bottom. Not giving up on her, b/c her root looks very healthy. Her rooter dried out too much the other day. :slightly_frowning_face: Hopefully, she’ll get going, soon.

I have some baby root porn to add to the files, but those will have to wait til later.

They look good. I like that big fat root on the daiquiri lime. She’s gonna be a good one. That’s my prediction.

From burnt, praying leaves to one of the nicest roots. The Bloody Skunk has a nice bit of root, too. The pic doesn’t do it justice.

They all look healthy that’s for sure. So this round is officially up and growing!
