I really think you can get away with it.
Here’s the size of my current run when I moved from solo to the Autopots. Other than hydrating the Coco I turned them on immediately and had absolutely no issues.
Think I’ll be going straight to the bags from now on too. Only reason I even went with the solos this time is I like to dome until sprout and I’ll have to find something suitable kicking around for the bags. I just use bottoms from plastic 2L bottles over the solo cups.
Anyway, common opinion seems to be wait for leaves to hit the edges of the bags before turning on but I’ve gone earlier with each subsequent grow in them and haven’t had problems yet.

Thank you for the input @CygnusX1. Im going to fill the tray starting week 3 from sprout, which is this sunday. See if they drink from the tray, if so im gonna turn on the res.

I mean, the way I look at it the pots keep moisture in the coco most of the way to the top and seedlings don’t drink much in the first few weeks anyway, so……
Next run I’ll fire it up when dropping seeds and gently top water for the first week or so they seem to need it. What’s the harm in turning them on from the get-go…?

Best investment I’ve made in this hobby honestly.
Really does put the whole grow into easy mode. Especially with Jacks since it runs so clean. There’s no looking back.

@Carpenter , no beautiful bean sproutage yet. Probably day after tomorrow. Gonna be fun to see if our girls look the same. Each run ive done, one always seemed a little different, like it had more of one parent than the others. Like Lil bit, with the Critical Red Hour Glass, She was shorter and darker than Beauty and Legz.

Transferred both of Gary‘s beans to a paper towel yesterday. Today still no life so I placed two more in the paper towel.
